What is Zeolite Water Filter Media?

Zeolite filter media absorbs ammonium ions and over time the porous structure of zeolite granules become saturated with these ions and will not be able to absorb any more. Zeolite has a process of regeneration that removes the absorbed ammonium ions and rejuvenates the Zeolite filter media. In order for the Zeolite water filtration system to continue to reduce ammonium ions from water the zeolite water filter pressure vessel needs to be opened at least once a year, a sodium chloride (salt) solution added into the filter media, soaked over night and then back washed out, this process restores the micro-porous structure of the zeolite filter media.

In water purification systems the Zeolite Filter Media can be placed in a FRP Media Vessel with a Runxin Automatic Softener Valve and Brine Tank for the ease of auto regeneration.

Zeolite filtration media can be used as a better replacement for quartz silica sand filter media in any sand filter. Zeolite is a high performance water filter media that allows the same filtration standards of Diatomaceous Earth (DE) with the convenience of sand.

Zeolite filters much finer than most glass and sand filter media. Zeolite water filtration sand should not be used with ionisers as they remove metals from the water sources.
