Calcite PH Fix Calcium Carbonate

PH Fix Calcite is a crushed and screened white marble water filtration media that is cost effectively used as a neutralising filter for acidic or low pH water to a neutral, less corrosive state.

Calcite pH Fix is a naturally occurring calcium carbonate base water filter media. A huge advantages of pH Fix Calcium Carbonate is its self-limiting property so it does not overdose. When pH Fix is properly applied in a water purification system, it corrects pH just enough to reach a non-corrosive equilibrium. Calcite pH correction filter media does not overcorrect under normal conditions. Upon contact with PH Fix Calcite Media, acidic waters slowly dissolve the calcium carbonate in order to raise the PH which reduces the potential for leaching of copper, lead and other metals found in typical water systems. Frequent backwashing will prevent packing, reclassify the bed and maintain high service outcomes. Depending on the pH, water chemistry and service flow, the pH Fix Calcite media bed will have to be periodically replenished as the PH Fix is depleted. As the pH Fix Calcite’s calcium carbonate neutralises the water, it will increase hardness and a softener may become necessary after the pH Fix water filter. Calcite pH Fix can be effectively combined with other products to combine the high flow neutralisation properties of the filter media, along with the slower reacting low flow properties of pH Fix Calcite, increasing the ability to correct low pH water.
